Fast and accurate density and flow readings are critical to many industrial processes. You'll find MFMS in all sorts of industries, including
There are two major components to the Mass Flow Measuring System:
The MFMS is capable of measuring the mass flow rate of a range of fluids, including cement slurry, cleaning agents, oils, vinegar, and even mayonnaise!
It can also be used to measure the density of the fluid (specific gravity - mass/mass of water).
Mass flow rate and density are measured independently of each other.
Fluid or slurry is channeled through two measuring tubes inside the sensor body.
The tubes are made to vibrate from side to side, and each tube’s total deviation and phase shift are measured.
If you opened the sensor, the vibrations would be too small to even be seen.
